Overview
Medical Laboratory Science, also called MedTech, is a science-intensive program that prepares students to become medical technologists who perform laboratory tests crucial to patient diagnosis and treatment. The course combines lectures, laboratory sessions and hospital-based clinical internship.
You’ll study clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, parasitology, toxicology, blood banking and molecular diagnostics. Using modern instruments, you’ll learn how to process samples, interpret results and ensure accuracy through proper laboratory quality control.
In your fourth year, you will undergo a clinical internship in accredited hospitals or diagnostic centers where you will rotate through various laboratory departments and gain practical exposure to real clinical cases.
